- About Teda's job as a Wokou(Pirate):
Between Sengoku~Edo Period, Japan was known to be isolated country. Forbidding the foreign trading and banning ships from the outside of the country to enter their harbor, they set a strict law for imported goods. This is where Wokou, aka Pirates comes in. Wokou dealt with illegal trading between Japan and foreign countries right under the government's noses, importing goods from other countries forbidden to enter the Japanese seas to make more money.
Teda deals with foreign sailors daily, wether it be trading goods or taking over and stealing foreign ships that enters his 'territory' in the Yellow Sea. He gathers these illegal, yet rare and precious goods and brings them to the market in Scorched Mountain, making them available for everyone. For a high price of course.

Personality:

Despite him being a pirate, he doesn't really... act like it. He's rather nice to people, and really caring towards his crew members. Yes, he has that tough guy and strong willed attitude like a MAN but he really is a sweet heart.
That doesn't mean you can underestimate him. If you push the right buttons, he will snap and won't hesitate to rip a new one. He's a captain for a reason after all. On top of his enthusiasm for adventures, he isn't afraid to take risks. He's brave, strong, takes the role of being a leader very seriously, and very optimistic.

He does have a downfall though. He's really naive and is willing to trust people a bit too quickly. He can easily be labeled as a Sucker. Especially if you are a psychic type. He's very superstitious, and is a bit paranoid about his own luck. Being out in the dangerous seas almost all of his life might be the reason for this.


History:

He was born and raised in one of the southern chain island. He grew up in a family of fishermen, learning how to sail a ship, swim, and surviving in the harsh conditions of the ocean. Teda had always dreamt of adventures and facing many dangers as a captain of his own ship.
Being the first born of his family, he inherited one of his father's old ship. Teda was thrilled, he spent months fixing up his 'Baby' and soon became the new captain of S.S. Uminchu. He gathered few crew members who was ready for some actions out in the deep blue sea, and started a new life as a Pirate Captain.
Today him and his crews sails the mighty Eastern Sea, hunting other cargo ships and Wailords, trading rare imported goods in the market of Scorched Mountain, working for any man(or woman) who can afford his service, as he drink and be merry with his fellow pirate crew, enjoying the life of a Pirate.

Additional info:

- He has many trinkets and charms that supposedly gives him good luck and protection from almost everything.

- His crew members occasionally give him evolutionary stones and items to help him evolve and get stronger. But since he can't choose what he wants to evolve into, he just puts them away in his "special" drawers.

- He really loves his ship.

- He's good at his job. That's it.

- Because he's usually out in the sea with his crew members which strictly consists of males, he enjoys having women as a company while he's on land. He has a tendency to follow the women who catches his attention, but if the other party doesn't show any interest in him, he'll stop bothering them right away.
